I purchased a Nomad Factory product that came with Pace and/or iLok authorization system but cannot register, what do I do?

Nomad Factory no longer supports PACE AP or iLok, so don't install the version of the product you just bought.
If you already installed the software, please uninstall it.

You can authorize up to 3 computers using a single serial number. However re-authorizations are always free.

What is a Serial Number? Do I need one?

Yes, a serial number is a unique code used to identify each Nomad Factory product.

1- After you purchase from us, we send a serial number to your email address along with a link to download the product you purchased.

2- When the Nomad Factory Software Activation asks you to enter your serial number, simply copy and paste it from your email into the field.

What is the difference between Serial Number and Digital ID?

Digital ID is old name that simply refers to what we now call your Serial Number.

Do I need a computer to use Nomad Factory Software?

Yes, Nomad Factory makes software plug-ins that require a computer to run them.
We emulate classic hardware processors and effects units (meaning physical devices) with meticulously designed software (computer programs).

My computer is NOT connected to Internet, how can I authorize my plug-ins?

Since your computer is not connected to the Internet, you will need to use the Software Activation to generate an html activation request file and then copy it to another computer that has an Internet connection.

I have formated my hard disk, can I use the same license file I received before to re-authorize my plug-ins?

As long you are trying to re-authorize the same computer, Yes, you can re-authorize your plug-ins using the original license file.

Run the Software Activation and read the saved license file. It will re-authorize your plug-ins.

Where can I find the license authorization files on my authorized computer?

For Nomad Factory Software :

1- Mac OSX, all licenses are stored in : "HD Macintosh/Library/Application Support/Nomad Factory/Licenses"

Which email should I use when I authorizing my Nomad Factory software?

You must use the email that you used when you purchased the product online from nomadfactory.com or from an authorized reseller. Every time you need to authorize a Nomad Factory product, you must use the same email that is linked to your account.

I installed and authorized my software successfully, but when I try to use it as a plug-in my host application still says it is in Demo Mode.?

We recommend that you quit all host applications before you install and authorize your new software. Quitting your host application and relaunching it should fix the problem.

Where are the presets installed on my computer?

For Nomad Factory Software :

The plug-in does not show up in Cubase or Nuendo, what can I do?

It is possible that the plug-in has not been scanned correctly.
To force a re-scan of the plug-in do the following:

1- On Windows, the plug-in has been installed into "C:\\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins".
2- Launch Cubase and choose "Plug-in information" from the "Devices" menu.
3- Click the "VST Plugins" tab and click the "VST 2.x Plug-in paths" button
4- On Windows, add the path "C:\\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins" to the list of paths, then click "Ok"
5- Click the "Update" button to perform a re-scan of plug-ins, then the plug-in should now show up in the list

The plug-in does not show up in Logic, what can I do?

It is possible that the plug-in has not been scanned correctly.
To force a re-scan of the plug-in do the following:

1- Go to Logic Menu and go to Preferences > Audio Units Manager.
2- Click Reset & Rescan Selection.
3- If problems persist, Quit Logic.
4- Go to Macintosh HD/Users/'Your Account'/Library/Caches. In that folder, delete the file called "com.apple.audiounits.cache".
5- Restart Logic. It will re-scan all the available plug-ins, then the plug-in should now show up in the list

The plug-in does not show up in Ableton Live, what can I do?

It is possible that the plug-in has not been scanned correctly.
To force a re-scan of the plug-in do the following:

1- On Windows, the VST plug-in has been installed into "C:\\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins".
2- Go to Live Menu > Preferences. Click on the File/Folder Tab.
2- Under Plug-in Sources, make sure that(Mac only : "Use Audio Units") and Use VST Plug-in System Folders are both on.
3- On Windows, add the path "C:\\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins" to the list of paths.
5- Click the Rescan Plug-ins button. This may take a while.., then the plug-in should now show up in the list

The plug-in does not show up in Digital Performer, what can I do?

It is possible that the plug-in has not been scanned correctly.
To force a re-scan of the plug-in do the following:

Digital Performer V5:
1- Trash the "Audio Unit Info Cache".
(Macintosh HD / Users / 'Your Account' / Library / Preferences / Digital Performerâ„¢ / Audio Unit Info Cache.)
2- Restart Digital Performer. It will re-scan all the available plug-ins, then the plug-in should now show up in the list

Digital Performer V6 or higher:
1- Go to the Digital Performer menu > Preferences.
2- In the Preferences window, select 'Audio Plug-Ins', find the plug-in in the list and click on the "Reexamine button".
Then the plug-in should now show up in the list

The plug-in does not show up in Sonar (Windows 64-bit version), what can I do?

First thing you need to do is verify where your plugins have been installed.

If Sonar is in 64 bit mode then your plug-ins should be installed here:
C:\\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins

If Sonar is running in 32 bit mode then your plug-ins should be installed here:
C:\\Program Files(x86)\Steinberg\VstPlugins

If your plug-ins are not in the correct folder, then re-install them into the correct folder or make note of the folder where they are actually installed.

Once you have verified the plug-ins location then open Sonar.

In Sonar, go to Options > Global Options.
Click on the VST Plug-ins tab.

The plug-in folder that you installed to above should be listed in the VST Scanned Folders window. If they are not, click ADD to add that folder to the list.

Make sure the Scan for VST Plug-ins on Startup is checked.

Click Scan VST Folder down at the bottom.

Hit OK when you are done.

The plug-in does not show up in Sonar (Windows 32-bit version), what can I do?

First thing you need to do is verify where your plugins have been installed.

- Wavelab 6: Choose Options > Preferences. Click the VST tab.
- Wavelab 7: Choose Options > VST Plugin Settings.

2- Below where it says "Optional Extra VST Plugins folder" click the folder icon on the right and locate the VST folder:
"C:\\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins".

3- Click "Force plug-in detection at next start"
4- Click OK and Quit Wavelab.
5- Restart Wavelab and the plug-in will be rescanned., then the plug-in should now show up in the list

The plug-in does not show up in Samplitude, what can I do?

It is possible that the plug-ins has not been scanned correctly.
To force a re-scan of the plug-ins do the following:

1- The plug-ins has been installed into "C:\\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins".

- Open a new track in Samplitude.
- Go to the plugins section on that track and click on an empty slot..

2- Choose VST > DirectX > Rewire Setup.
3- Click the folder next to VST Plugin Path.
4- Choose Browse VST Folder:

- On Windows XP locate: C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins. Click OK.
- On Windows 7/Vista (64-bit) locate: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\Vstplugins. Click OK.

5- Samplitude will scan the plugins for a moment.
6- Go back to the plugin slot and now choose VST FX, then the plug-ins should now show up in the list

The plug-in does not show up in my Windows host (Reaper, Adobe Audition, Tracktion, n-Track, etc..), what can I do?

It is possible that the VST plug-ins folder where the plug-in is installed has not be found.

1- The plug-in has been installed into "C:\\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins".
2- Open your host, Sonar, Reaper, etc..., and search for VST Preferences.
3- When ready, add the path "C:\\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins" to the list of VST paths.
5- After scanning the plug-ins, the plug-in should show up in the list

I want to uninstall the installed plug-ins on my Windows computer, how can I do it?

Go to Start Menu > All Programs > Nomad Factory or BBE Sound and Run the Uninstaller for all the plug-ins you have.

Locate the AU/VST/RTAS plug-ins folders on your computer and delete the plug-ins you don't want.

On Windows my plug-ins are installed & authorized properly but they are still stuck in demo mode. What do I do?

The On Board PCIE Network Controller needs to be enabled, that's how our plugins stay authorized.

1- To access this control setting restart your computer and press F2 to get into setup mode.
2- Select Advanced Chipset Features and ENABLE the Onboard LAN Controller.

I cannot load or save presets, I am using Windows 7, Vista (32 and 64 bit), what can I do?

This is a Administrator Permissions problem, please follow the steps below:

1- On your desktop, double-click '', select your boot drive (C:), right-click on the drive and open 'Properties' on the displayed menu..
2- When the Properties window appears, on the tabs, select 'Security'.
3- On the 'Group or User Names' list, select 'Administrator' and click the 'Edit' button..
4- On the list, click the check-box to allow permission for 'Full Control', click 'Apply' and close all windows..
5- Then the plug-in should now load and save presets correctly.

How do I remove the unwanted Demo Versions of Plug-ins ?

MAC OS X : Common authorizations issues or crashes caused by permissions settings errors.

Please follow the steps below to resolve current issues:

- 1) Download our latest installer from our downloads page.

- 2) Double-Click the "uninstall_AU.command" included in the "Support OpenMe/Uninstall Your Software" folder to remove the installed plug-ins.

- 3) Double-Click the "backup_licenses.command" included in the "Support OpenMe/Backup Your Licenses" folder, the Nomad Factory folder will be renamed to "Nomad Factory Backup", Presets and Licenses will be saved.

- 4) When ready, run the installer. This will create a new Nomad Factory folder including the Licenses and Plug-In Settings folders with the correct permissions settings. (You can now drag any backed up licenses/presets from the backup folder directly into the newly created folders)

- The Backup folder can be found here : /Library/Application Support/Nomad Factory Backup
- The new created Nomad Factory folder can be found here : /Library/Application Support/Nomad Factory

After moving your saved licenses, launch your host application and it should work. You can now delete the "Nomad Factory Backup" folder.

My serial number cannot be found in your database, why? and what can I do?

We support Mac Intel machines runing Mac OS Leopard 10.5 and Snow Leopard 10.6 (including 64 bit).
Sorry we do not longer support Power PC machines and Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) or earlier.

We support Windows XP (Service Pack 2 & 3), Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit mode).
